Teachers in art, music and physical education report student progress on the report card using the following terms. Grading Guidelines K-2 Level 1 - Exhibits skill/concept with direct guidance Level 2 – Exhibits skill/concept with minimal guidance Level 3 – Exhibits mastery of skill/concept Level 4 – Exhibits understanding beyond grade level expectation. Grades 3-5 E Exceeding S Satisfactory N Needs improvement U Unsatisfactory “E” stands for EXCEEDING, which means that a student is above grade level expectations. “S” stands for SATISFACTORY, which means that a student is meeting grade level expectations. “N” stands for NEEDS IMPROVEMENT, which means that a student is struggling with meeting grade level expectations. “U” stands for UNSATIsFACTORY, which means that a student is performing below grade level expectations.
